Here’s what to expect when we take over your existing system
A full-time, fully licensed technician will connect the wireless transmitter to your system's main control box for a small one-time charge of $89.
We’ll run a signal strength test, and send test alarms to our 24hr dispatch center to confirm success.
Keep the same alarm codes if you'd like, or have new ones setup at no extra cost. We will train you on how to use it.
Your technician will accept payment for any necessary equipment charges (will have already been discussed and approved by you first).

Alarm companies are notorious for over-charging customers to install cheap, unreliable cameras. Arlo (owned by the reputable company Netgear) cannot be beat for ease of setup, price, and quality.
Also, did you know alarm companies don't even monitor the cameras they install? They just connect the footage into their app (that has less features and setting controls).

There is no contract! Since 1978, we've been able to keep our customers with great service. Should you need to stop service though, all we require is 30 day written notice.
Any equipment Smith Thompson installs comes with a 1 year part and labor warranty. If a repair is needed on equipment originally installed by another company, or if you are outside of the 1 year warranty period, it would cost $59 for the service call, plus any parts needed.

A dispatcher immediately calls you on any number you would like us to call. If we don’t receive an answer, the police or fire department are dispatched to your home. If we do receive an answer we verify your password, and at that point you can decide if you want us to dispatch or not. We never charge for false alarms.
Due to the short term nature of apartments, we do not. We recommend looking into SimpliSafe.
If we are taking over a compatible system about 45 min - 1.5 hours. If we are installing a new system from scratch about 2 hrs.

We had a great experience with Smith Thompson

From the first phone call to the actual use of our security system we have been 100% satisfied! The technician was knowledgable and courteous. He was able to answer all my questions and get the system up and running in no time. Thank you Smith Thompson Home Security for making our home more secure and at an affordable price to do so!!!!
A breeze so far!
Everything about Smith Thompson has been a breeze so far! The tech that installed our system was extremely knowledgeable- we had a lot of questions. He was not pushy with products, just presented our options.. which I appreciated a lot. I have enjoyed the service & would definitely recommend. You can’t be the prices either!
Simple, easy, and straight forward.
We just moved into our new home... and dealt with many different companies and their representatives. So far, our experience with Smith Thomson is the best. They made it simple, easy, and straight forward -- just the way we expected. And best of all their price is very reasonable and affordable. Highly recommended. Wish to see more businesses like Smith Thompson...
