I have to sign a long term contract? |

No. Smith Thompson is the only
company that has never required a long term contract
in nearly thirty years! Our satisfied customers stay
with us because they want to, not because they have
to.

we ever raised our rates? |
| |
No. Unlike most companies who raise
your rate every year or two, we have never raised
our rates since we began. Actually, we have lowered
our rates a few times. Our standard rate is still
$16.95 a month with no hidden charges or surprises.

Do
I get my homeowners insurance discount? |
| |
Yes, since we are fully licensed
and approved by all participating insurance companies,
you will receive the maximum premium discount with
us.

What
payment options do you offer? |
| |
We can accept payment any way you
prefer. Most of our customers are billed quarterly.
Electronic checking draft and credit card debit are
also very popular.

Is
there any discount for pre paying my account? |
| |
Yes. Many of our customers choose
to pay annually by simply paying for eleven months
and then receive the twelfth month free. The total
for this option is $201.85 which includes tax.

What
is the cost of a service call should I ever need one? |
| |
We rarely charge for service calls
but sometimes there will be a small charge for something
that is completely out of our control.

Example - If you are replacing
a door which needs a new contact, maybe adding DSL
which will need a DSL filter, or switching phone companies
which may require some rewiring, there will be a small
service charge. If we did not install your system,
we sometimes have to charge a small fee to cover the
labor. Any equipment that we install will have a one
year parts and labor warranty. Our service rates are
typically a fraction of any of our competitors.

Can
I get a credit for referring someone? |

Yes. Each time you refer a friend
or relative and they switch to our service, you get
a free month of service. This is in addition to any
free months you receive for paying annually.

Do
you have to have a land line (telephone line)? |
| |
No, if you choose to have your
alarm system monitored with an Uplink cellular modem,
no phone line is needed. Smith Thompson can monitor
your alarm system either way or both. |

Do
I need a permit? |
| |
Yes. Most cities and towns have
alarm ordinances that require that you register your
system with the police department. Call your local
police and have them send you an application. Please
let us know the permit number as soon as possible.
